She passed away surrounded by loved ones, after a 3-year health battle. Her memory will never be forgotten. Long live System Preferences.

Apple supports the last 3 major releases of MacOS. With the release of macOS 13 removing System Preferences in favor of System Settings, the fate of System Preferences was little more than a ticking time bomb. Today, macOS 15 released to the general public, marking the end of an era. With macOS 12 losing support, Apple no longer supports any versions of macOS with System Preferences. Slowly, software vendors will no longer support macOS 12 as well.

In fact, Homebrew jumped the gun and dropped support for macOS 12 three days BEFORE macOS 15 dropped.

Today marks the start of the whimpering demise of software support, just as has happened to every version of macOS previously. It's the circle of life, really. I'll hold on to Monterey as long as I can, though I assume at some point I'll be forced to upgrade by some software or another.
